In response to the urgent demand for efficient and stable oxygen supply equipment in the North American auto parts industry, the VPSA oxygen generator (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption Oxygen Generator) customized by GNEE has recently completed the entire acceptance process. 18 units are being shipped in three batches to the auto parts industrial cluster in Michigan, USA, serving supporting suppliers of automakers such as General Motors and Ford. This customized production once faced a major challenge: most of the heat treatment production lines of North American customers are retrofits of old equipment, with significant differences in carburizing furnace interface specifications and oxygen pressure requirements from different manufacturers—there are 6 types of interfaces ranging from φ50mm to φ100mm. To achieve seamless connection of equipment, GNEE's mechanical design team adjusted the plan overnight, adopting a modular interface design and developing quickly replaceable flange components. At the same time, the output pressure adjustment range of the equipment was expanded to 0.1-1.2MPa, perfectly adapting to all customers' production lines. Each unit of these Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption Oxygen Systems has an oxygen output ranging from 300 to 500 Nm³/h, among which the main model has an oxygen output of 500 Nm³/h, with a unit oxygen power consumption as low as 0.31 kW·h/m³. It is 20% more energy-efficient than traditional PSA equipment, fully aligning with the low-carbon production goals of local enterprises.
Heat treatment processes such as carburizing and quenching of auto parts have strict requirements for oxygen purity and stability. If the oxygen purity is lower than 99%, it will lead to uneven surface hardness of parts and a significant increase in scrap rate. The exported vpsa oxygen plant (VPSA Oxygen Generation Equipment) adopts imported high-end lithium-based molecular sieves. Through the optimized pressure swing adsorption for oxygen production (Pressure Swing Adsorption oxygen generation process), the adsorption cycle is shortened from the traditional 4 minutes to 2.5 minutes, enabling stable output of industrial oxygen with a purity of 99.2% and impurity content controlled below 0.008 ppm. The intelligent flow control system equipped with the equipment can automatically adjust the oxygen supply according to the three stages of carburizing furnace—temperature rise, heat preservation, and cooling—avoiding oxygen waste.
"Not only does the equipment meet our production process requirements, but its modular design also saves 30% of the installation space. The equipment area that originally required 120 square meters can now be fully accommodated in 85 square meters," introduced the production manager of an American auto parts enterprise. After the equipment is connected to the existing production lines, the surface hardness of parts has increased from HRC58 to HRC62, wear resistance has improved by 30%, and the scrap rate has dropped from 5.2% to 1.8%. At the same time, due to the improved oxygen utilization efficiency, the monthly natural gas consumption cost has been reduced by about 12,000 US dollars, and the equipment investment cost is expected to be recovered within 18 months.
To comply with US market standards, the equipment has not only obtained UL safety certification and EPA environmental certification but also undergone low-temperature resistance modification for its electrical system in response to the low-temperature climate characteristics of Michigan, ensuring normal startup and operation even in extreme environments of -20℃. Considering the continuity of auto parts production, GNEE has provided customers with a "dual-machine linkage" solution. When one piece of equipment undergoes maintenance, the other can automatically switch to take over the oxygen supply, ensuring uninterrupted production lines.
Currently, the first batch of 8 units has been put into production. Operation data shows that their average trouble-free operation time reaches 1200 hours, far exceeding the customer's expected standard of 800 hours, laying a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation in the future.

In addition to VPSA Oxygen Generators, we also produce PSA Oxygen Generators, storage tanks, heat exchangers and other products. If you are interested in VPSA Oxygen Systems or other products, please feel free to send an email to info@gneeheatex.com. We will be very happy to serve you.
