The technology of air-to-nitrogen generation using adsorption processes in PSA nitrogen generators is well-established and widely applied at industrial facilities for producing high-purity nitrogen. This nitrogen is used across multiple industries from food packaging to supporting laboratory instrumentation such as Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) and Gas Chromatography (GC).
Our PSA nitrogen generators for scientific applications are engineered to produce high purity nitrogen by precisely regulating gas adsorption and adsorbent regeneration through pressure changes in two adsorber vessels. This process maintains a constant temperature close to ambient conditions.
The swing adsorption process in each of the two adsorbers consists of two stages operating at intervals of a few minutes. During adsorption, oxygen, moisture and carbon dioxide molecules diffuse into the adsorbent pore structure while nitrogen molecules pass through to be delivered as high purity nitrogen.
