On August 22, the two 1650m³ LPG storage tanks designed and built by GNEE were officially delivered and successfully lifted onto a 3300m³ LNG transport vessel.

The tanks are classified by the China Classification Society (CCS), with the main material being P690QL1. They have a diameter of 9.3m and a total length of 27.525m. The design pressure is 1.75 MPa, and the design temperature is -10°C to 45°C. These are C-type independent liquid cargo tanks, consisting of a horizontal cylindrical body and two hemispherical heads. Inside, two baffles are installed to reduce the sloshing of the liquid cargo in the tank.

During the construction of the LPG tanks, GNEE leveraged its extensive experience in building chemical tankers and LPG carriers to successfully solve challenges such as the difficulty of processing P690QL1 high-strength thick plates, welding cracks, controlling pre-welding temperatures, controlling heat treatment temperatures, and handling the transport of the tanks on site.

The successful delivery of these single-layer LPG tanks marks that GNEE has developed comprehensive capabilities in material procurement, production design, process design, production construction, and process quality control for single-layer tank construction. It also highlights the establishment of a professional team with strong learning ability, strong collaborative awareness, and a challenging spirit. Additionally, this project has provided valuable experience for the construction of other LPG single-layer tanks and 9Ni steel tanks currently under production.

In just one month, GNEE independently designed and built both a 200m³ LNG double-layer tank and a 1650m³ LPG single-layer tank, successfully delivering both. This achievement marks a dual breakthrough in the construction and delivery of double-layer and single-layer tanks, laying a solid foundation for the rolling production and batch delivery of tank bodies.
