Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) storage tanks are pressure vessels used to store media with liquefied petroleum gas (propane) as the main component.
The saturated vapor pressure of the stored medium at 50°C is less than or equal to 1.63 MPa, and the solubility of H₂S is less than 7.7 mg/L.
They are divided into two types: above-ground storage tanks and underground storage tanks.
Functions of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Storage Tanks
(1) Receive LPG from supply units.
(2) Unload LPG into storage tanks.
(3) Store LPG in storage tanks.
(4) Provide sufficient LPG for filling LPG cylinders and automotive tankers.
(5) Perform LPG tank transfer operations according to production needs.
(6) Recover residual liquid from empty LPG cylinders.
(7) Maintain and overhaul equipment, pipelines, valves, and instruments in the tank farm.
